BELLINGHAM — KISM-FM radio host Laurie Michaels, already hospitalized following surgery for a brain aneurysm, gave birth to a girl this morning. The 4-pound, 10-ounce girl, named Ella Ray, was delivered by Caesarean section at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Michaels has been at the hospital Michaels was iin intensive care Wednesday afternoon, said Debbie Chavez, operations manager for Cascade Radio Group. Michaels’ husband, Joe Teehan, a radio host on KGMI-AM, is in Seattle with his wife, Chavez said. Other announcers are covering for the couple in their absence, she said.
