I've had this guy's name come up a couple of times during chats with former co-workers (thank you facebook).  Dave Ross was at CKIQ Kelowna for years and then went on to an AM station in Prince George, I think.  I lost track of him though quite a few years ago.

Anyone know anything?

OK -thanks!  I have no real reason to find him... but I spent ALOT of time in the booth with him as we crossed over shifts.  He was an arenaline jock and usually chain smoked his Cameos while working.  Got me hooked on them for a while too!

Won't find smokes in the control room today. Nothing like hacking up a butt just AS YOU PAN UP.

CKIQ was the last place I worked where smoking happened regularly in master control.  We were still hacking butts at CKNW before that.

Personally, I'm glad the smoking is gone... sometimes the only way to tolerate the stale smell of the control booth was to light up a fresh stick for yourself.

I never liked smoking that much...

Funny stuff WOODMAN. Times have changed from blowing off ash on the 45's to having clean air control - You wonder how the hell they ever allowed smoking back then - Mined my mom use to smoke in IGA as she purchased grocery they had a tin can attached to the buggy.

I see screaming Liz still gigging in Ktown.
