Seahawks and KIRO extend broadcast deal

Puget Sound Business Journal (Seattle)
Published: Friday, August 24, 2007

Seattle Seahawk games will continue to be heard on KIRO-AM radio for the next few years, as the NFL team extended its broadcasting deal with Bonneville Seattle.

Terms of the "multiyear" deal weren't disclosed.

Salt Lake City-based Bonneville International Corp. acquired KIRO in January as part of a swap of stations with Entercom Communications Corp. Bonneville also said that next year, the Seahawks games will also be heard on KBSG-FM, which it also acquired in the swap.

The deal includes the "Coach Holmgren Show" with Seahawks coach
Mike Holmgren,

John Froschauer, Associated Press
(Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren won Super Bowl XXXI with the Packers in 1997.)

Mike talks on the KIRO morning show twice a week during the football season, and the "Seahawks Huddle," which is the club's weekly radio show heard on Wednesday.
