What in the world is the fascination in this market with this pompous, rude blowhard.

Bruins30... your name says it all. Burke engaged Canuck fans and knows the business of Hockey.
It's a shame he had a falling out with Orca Bay ownership.

I kind of agree with Bruins30.  I'm a Canucks fan and I don't get what the big fascination with Burke is.  He's history, old news.  I don't see anyone worrying about other past GM's or hedging on his every word like they do for this guy.  It seems like he's always in the sports headlines here.

I'd rather hear what Nonis has to say about my team, not some guy talking about his team from another city.

I think Burke got a raw deal from Orca Bay too and good for him for getting a cup but jeeze, it's time to move on people.

Burke loves the fact that he is still a big fish in Vancouver.  Bringing the cup here makes next to no sense, except for his ego.

The CUP would be bitter sweet for Burke to display in this city.

Maybe he could walk it into the afternoon show on 1040.

Well Kahuna - bottom line is we are not all Canucks.  If only Canuck fans could swap some of that ripe hot air for a couple of wins in the playoffs - then maybe things would be a bit different.

Oh and by the way, I think your name says it all - get some.

I thought he said out of respect for Nonas the closest the cup would get to Vancouver was Chilliwack.

That's a hell of a statement

"bottom line is we are not all Canucks"

Go crawl back under the rock. You MUST still be living in the glory days of the Bruins. You can't help having the passion for Burke. Appreciate the tenacity of this guy. If we only had more people in this world that could show loyalty & character.

At least the Bruins had glory years...and did it without having a rude and vulgar clown running the team

Burke is a mans man go back to the crochet. We must be thankful, although NONIS not rude, he was taken under the wing of Burke and they operate the same only with a different cover.

The Bruins got two new assist coaches today to help out Claude Julien. Ray Bourque, Cam Neely days are long gone keep on living in the shadows bruins30.

Burke is a clown.  Out of one side of his mouth he says he's ok with offersheets, then, magically, out of the other side, he bashes Lowe.  Moron.

If Burke doesn't blow 2yrs @ $4M per on Bertuzzi, and offers, say, 3yrs @ $2.5 per to Penner and 1 year, $5M to Selanne, he doesn't have this problem.

Any chance of getting this thread moved to Canucks-dot-com?      Seems a more fitting home - not because of the subject but rather the tone and  poor manners.

Radioboy - what's hard to fathom is how you could defend someone who has such disdain for the media.  This guy is a bully who supressed free speech in this market and belittled the vast majority of media people in this town who dared to disagree with him.  Have a view contrary to his and he would be quick to boycott your outlet or attempt to have you fired.  Great guy, huh?    Might have been a little more understanding if he actually put together a winning team here - but one series win in the 7 + years he ruled the roost here is nothing to be particulary proud about.

Ok DP you gotta give the guy kudos for bringing the team to it's solid franchize position.

Now maybe you sport guys can bring us some hard hitting Francesco Aquilini  news. What's the deal with the hush hush on John McCaw and Francesco Aquilini trial. I have heard booooooo on this.
