Clear Sky Radio Inc. is pleased to announce that its first radio station CJOC-FM “94.1 The Lounge” in Lethbridge officially launches on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 9:41 am.
After a month of testing our signal, building our facility and recruiting our staff, CJOC-FM “94.1 The Lounge” is ready to officially launch and begin regular broadcasting.
“We are finally ready to roll” says Paul Larsen, President of Clear Sky Radio. “We’ve passed the mandatory test period, completely finished our new state-of-the-art studios and have our initial staff in place” adds Larsen. “We’re excited to unveil our dynamic, local programming to the citizens of Lethbridge”.
The Lounge on-air lineup starts with “Mark Campbell in the Morning”, weekdays from 6am to 9am including news on the half hour with Veryl Todd. From 9am to 2pm, it’s “Rick Volpatti” followed by “Andy Carlson” on your Drive Home from 2pm to 7pm. Evenings from 7pm to Midnight will feature “The John Tesh Radio Show”. CJOC-FM “94.1 The Lounge” will feature News on the hour from 6am to 6pm daily.
Clear Sky Radio Inc. was formed by Paul Larsen in 2005 with a vision to become a leading independently owned broadcast company in Western Canada. Clear Sky is licenced to serve Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. Its head office is in Lethbridge.
Still grooving to the commercial free preview. Good stuff, looking forward to the official launch. Noticed the station is broadcasting RDS information, which is cool.
Thanks for keeping us up to date, Anchor Desk. Much appreciated
Just caught the official launch of the new CJOC 94.1 the Lounge. It was killer! Lots of history about Lethbridge radio. Anyone else happen to catch it?
Caught it this morning. Sounds great, I'm not at home for the summer so I won't be able to see the RDS but at least the online stream is available. It sounds crisp and clean, a much better feed than the two Rogers stations.
I just wanted you to know that I love the music, the radio announcers, and everything about this "new radio station". Iam one of those lucky people that takes part in the survey every couple years sent out by the the radio
broadcasting system. The last survey, I was just getting discouraged about what was out there, especially in the over 50 age group, as I am one of those people, just don't ask my weight!!Iwas getting so I wasn't listening to the radio anymore. So I am so excited to now have a station that I will enjoy listening to on
my mp3 or my car radio. Thanks so much for all your hard work for getting this staion on the air!My next survey will be a pleasure to fill out!
I really did enjoy the launch, it was very informative. I was away from the radio in the morning, so I recorded it and listened after. I was listening to the "test" and really liked the fact that we were getting a decent radio station for this area. The music, programming is very addictive I must say.
CJOC will be a winner for Lethbridge and Southern Alberta, because people remember those call letters, the people behind the historic radio station as well as the personalities.
I still have one of the original window stickers from 1220 CJOC AM Radio:
I could not be happier with the new CJOC station - "The Lounge"! The music makes me feel young and alive again. The contrasting selections are perfect and I love that I can sing along most of the time. My friends and I are hooked. Keep it coming! We're listening.
Good luck to that whole crew. Sounds like they put together quite the staff and the music is definitely missing from the airwaves. Let's just hope some of the bigger companies don't feel threatened by the new kid on the block (like they always seem to do) and try to buy them out.
