Graham Hicks.Sun June 24.

K-Rock has a replacement for Steve Zimmerman on its morning show. As of July 16, Ross McLeod from Cornwall, Ont. (and before that, Q107 in Toronto) joins Bill Cowen and Jim Jerome.

Funnyman Steve, who had a parting of ways with the station a few months ago, says he's enjoying his first summer off since Grade 9.

"The yard has never looked better, the car is always clean, and I'm bonding with Starsky the puppy who's like a blender with no top. Come the fall, I'll start looking for another radio job."

This is only a test. If this were real life, you would have given better instructions.

I wonder where he'll pop up. I'll be looking for him because Edmonton morning radio sucks!

It'll never happen. Not in Edmonton. Not with his reputation.

Great career move. Especially if he has a family and school, babysitting, or a mortgage to think about.

BC Work Futures
Occupational Profile : 2001, there were 61,945 people in driving occupations in B.C.... Bus drivers' average annual salary in 2000 was $40,600.

skyscraperpage.com
Montreal is on the verge of a transit strike over a salary dispute , according to MTC officals the estimate average annual salary enjoyed by members of the drivers union including benefits and overtime is $77,514.

From Winnipeg transit:
The starting hourly rate for Bus Operators is $14.63 for the first 12 months......Following 5 years of service the maximum hourly rate is currently $22.01.

Calgary:
Top of the pay scale, if you can roll the overtime, a bus operator can top out at 80k. after five years of service.

and from "Teaching Children Money Habits for Life"
The life-long benefits of teaching children good money habits make it well worth the effort. Children who are not taught these lessons pay the consequences for a life-time. Parents should take the time to teach children about money regardless of income and should start when children are young. (Ask some of those kids, they grow into radio!!!!)

Zim's already done something a ton of us haven't - - get out of this business before it's too late. I feel for all those old timers who don't have the gusto to do it. Cuz, really, life's about money and growth. Not time, temp, and name checks. We're not heroes just because we ramble the same thing day after day. Thank God a few of us have the brains to take some night courses. (Cheaper than another student loan!)
