Dave Sheldon has called color for over 300 WHL games in the past four seasons. Sheldon also called play-by-play for numerous games for the Bruins this past season and called Play-by-Play for the ADT Canada-Russia game held in Chilliwack this past November. While with Everett, Sheldon hosted a weekly radio show and was a regular on ESPN Radio in Everett, covering both the WHL and NHL. Sheldon also spent parts of two seasons covering the Vancouver Canucks for ESPN Radio.

He brings lots of energy into the office and to the Bruins radio broadcast,” states Barry Douglas, Bruins Director of Marketing. “Dave has vast experience in the WHL in dealing with all levels of media and will bring a rare passion to the play by play he will provide for the Bruins radio broadcasts.”

“I could not be more excited to be named to this position,” Sheldon remarks. “Since I was a child listening to Jim Robson, I have always dreamt of calling games. The Bruins have given me the opportunity, for which I am extremely grateful.”

Great to have a voice but don't you need a radio station that will carry that voice?

Many teams/leagues now stream play-by-play via the web, rather than use radio.

But minor league hockey is not usually "useful" to a radio station, because of the hit-and-miss interruption to their schedule/format.
