In an e-mail to journalists, EMI says it will hold a media conference tomorrow at its secret underground London lair. Apple Inc's Steve Jobs will be a special guest, and there will be a live performance. This, of course, has fueled rumors that EMI is about to make The Beatles catalog available for the very first time, on the iTunes Music Store. However, a source "familiar with the situation" says this is not the case. The event will be available as a live webcast tomorrow beginning at 5am Pacific time. Any guesses as to what's going to happen? Read more at USA Today. UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal says that tomorrow's event is going to center around an announcement that EMI plans to start selling music without antipiracy controls. |
