Just letting everyone know that the new CKVN 98.1 FM Lethbridge just began testing this evening. The old 97.1 has been going silent throughout the night. Just a matter of time for the flip now. I'm going to put 2 and 2 together. If CFUL stands for fuel maybe CKVN stands for Heaven 98???
Ah, CKVN...the station which canned 27 guys in one chop, kept 4 of us and went back to music with the likes of Latrimouille, Mulligan, and others...what an (unhappy) experience watching all those grown men cry at the meeting. Then, we all repaired to a downtown bar, the Duff I think, and got loaded. So much for Jack Tietolman and his fleet of second-hand Peugeot news cruisers, shipped in from Verdun, PQ., where he had CKVL AND a used car dealership.

This is kinda interesting, after reading your post I tuned into CJTS FM at 97.1 MHz, which is still broadcasting at 50 watts, the other station at 98.1 is coming in clear and strong. Funny to hear two stations from the same source.
I like hearing new launches of radio stations. Next, it's CJOC FM at 94.1 this spring
Just saw a Lethbridge Transit Bus with a large billboard on it, and saw an advertisement for the station on TV while watching the news. Looks like GWB is getting the word out

The original owner of CJTS 97.1 didn't really launch his station as professional as CKVN did this morning. I should have recorded it, all I remember is he was chatting on with Dr. Dick Dewert of the local Miracle Channel when Spirit FM was launched.
I didn't like the look or sound of the station after Terry Fleming was accused of sexual assault, it made him look bad as well as his attitude of the people around him.
98 will be a good change for my city, I believe. It reminds me of some of the bigger Christian FM radio stations in the USA. Good luck to Elmer and Golden West.
