You can tell that all from a billboard?

"Quality Music. True Variety" is a standard AAA slogan. I'm not a triple A expert but the format targets both males & females, right? I'm talking about a station that specifically targets females like a CHR or HOT AC.

I don't mean to insult (if I do, it's probobly because I'm ignorant), but doesn't it make more sense to target both men and women in a market the size of Grande Prairie? At least both rather than just male?

Q99 is testing now at 98.9

A pretty broad mix right now - in the short time i listened i heard tom cochrane, barenaked ladies, ac/dc and new nelly furtado.  I guess time will tell if they will stay that scattered.

A really interesting take on the "testing" id's.  lots of voices - some are even kind of funny

Sounds like the old 1050 CFGP. To think 10 years ago and a bit there were 2 AM stations, Oldies+AC & Country.  Now there will be 0 AM and 6 FM, 3 Rockish; 2 Country (1 repeater); 1 Christian.  wOw.  300% increase.

doesn't work.

q99live now has content including staff listed.  phil collins and nelly furtado seem to be the artists highlighted.  no "listen live" link that I can see yet.  wonder if there will be one?

I believe the Truhn clan is afraid of future imposed copyright payments.  So if they don't stream now it won't cost them then.

q99 has the launch audio up on the site now.

Brian James is the voice.  I've always liked his tone.

First song.  Santana/Rob Thomas - Smooth.  Safe.  A little dated.

Not stellar, not horrible as far as launches go, I'd give it a solid "B".  B+ if they would have omitted the blurb by Truhn, didn't need to be there.

All in all, congratulations on the launch.  Get a stream!

The Q website has added a cool feature where you can chat live on the website.  It's called shout it. Cool idea.  Still no streaming though.

And it looks like they let anyone post pretty much anything. Not sure if that's a super situation.
