And here are the central "reach" numbers The Beat & News1130 will be pushing, thanks to Gord Lansdell. "The Beat CFBT-FM 94.5 leads in Central Reach numbers with 376,900, News1130 CKWX AM 1130 is second with 338,200 and CKNW is third with 330,500."
Anyone able to get the middle markets? Peachland, Middle Market Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba? It'll be interesting to see what those markets look like now compared to the reflection we get when the new licenses figure into the equation. I know we'll probably see the numbers split a bit, but which formats, right? I don't know how many people would agree with it, but I think allowing new licenses to operate is a much more effective way to tell audience listening habits. (Rather than a loonie for each book, which can be bought by the stations anyway, right?).
CBC Radio !!! Look at Calgary, Victoria and now Vancouver with a +2 for CBC Radio, the strongest move up. We must be missing something. What is our Public broadcaster doing to attract and keep such strong numbers?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but could it be do to the fact they now are running "nested FM's" to go with the AM broadcast? Or is that just some of the markets in Canada?

Well, for one thing they're gone on a really hard ad campaign over the last quarter including billboards and spots on CBC television about every 15 minutes. The change really is amazing though...how about the TEAM?! Going up 2.1?! Impressive.
The Team numbers will go down now that Hockey is done in the city.
Summer time is made for Clasic Rock, CFMI ratings will then increase. It's the same pattern each year. Jack continues it's decline. Is the format getting stale?

Seems to me Jack is one of the top five commercial stations in Vancouver and their numbers actually went up.
