A car broke several windows when crashing into a Portland radio station on FridayAuthorities are detaining 30-year-old man in Vancouver for mental evaluation after he drove a white Toyota with Washington plates through a window at KXL radio at 234 S.W. Bancroft St. in Portland.

According to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau, the man would not be charged today, but will be interviewed and the case will probably be taken to the grand jury.

The man's name has not been released. According to KXL's website, the incident happened about 1 p.m. Receptionist Leann Wheatley said she first saw something out of the corner of eye.

"When I looked up, there was a car directly in front of the glass," she said. "The next thing I knew he was already through it and in the building." Wheatley was not injured.

Police and station officials say the man may have been upset over the station's morning programming.

Neighbors Say Suspect Had Grudge Against DJs

PORTLAND, Ore. -- An angry listener may be responsible for a car that crashed into an Oregon radio station building Friday afternoon, reported KPTV in Portland.

Neighbors said the man responsible has a vendetta against the radio station Jammin 95.5. According to the neighbors, he said the DJs at the station made fun of him on their morning show a few years ago.

They also said he's talked about doing something at the radio station, but they never took him seriously.

"We'll be outside and he'll stop by before he goes home and says, 'I'm going to be on the news soon, you better watch the news,'" said William Veale, a neighbor. "He's had this planned out."

Police said the driver is receiving a mental evaluation. He had not yet been charged with a crime Friday.

I wonder if the "mental evaluation" will reveal a sane and sober mentally sound...lunatic?
