Once again slumming it over on the Seattle board reading about all the shenanigans going on for their fall ratings.

I must say, I think we are a little too hard on ourselves.

Seattle is bigger than Van, Calgary or Edmonton and I think compared, they all do a better job.

I was reading about Seattle's new station MOVIN' which is apparently changing lives as the new format du jour as the Jacks south of us flounder.

I think its because they don't have DJs like the successful Canadian ones btw... but that could be a different thread.

MOVIN in Seattle is new and they are playing like a classic urban type deal (Boys To Men is playing as I type this).  Trying to take the top money demo end away from market leader KUBE and the hipper out there from the A/C.

They don't have DJs b/c DJs are a drain on society and have had moderate success over the last 3 trends there.  It is basically a few hundred songs and splitters and commercials.

So now its fall and time to get going and the station hyped on the air for the week of a big announcement Monday morning, blah blah blah, listen in.  Many on the Seattle board thought a morning show announcment like the new Whoopie syndicated show or even Oprah??? was thrown in there.

Monday rolls around duh dada duh?

Here's the exact copy from their website:

MOViN 92.5 is throwing Seattle's Bigget Party - HOUSE PARTY 2006 - and it's FREE!!  We're bringing you your favorite artists for FREE!!  The only way you can get in is to win your tickets from MOViN 92.5 on-air, online & on the streets!  Keep it tuned to MOViN 92.5 and logged on to http://www.movin925.fm for updates on where and when you can score your passes to MOViN 92.5's HOUSE PARTY 2006.

They misspelled "Biggest"!  Or were they trying to say bigot?   Either way, if you promote the heck out of a "Major Announcement" even to the point of having a countdown to the exact time of the announcement on your website for a week, you'd better actually have a BIG announcement.  Furthermore, when you do tell the audience your life-changing news...you better give them all of the information!  Don't just plan a lame concert and then say "keep listening to find out how you can maybe win a ticket".  Tell 'em exactly how and when they can win.  For their sake...I hope this is not their big Fall promotion!

Sounds like Dan O'Day wrote that!

what the above poster said is something also said by O'Day... don't make lame promises...

Here is the BIG Announment:

Would love to know what the learned out the think of this station/ format/ or launch, the Seattle board never gives too much insight into these things other than a bitchfest that would make this PSR blush
