The thought that Chuck would have to audition is insane. I hope the Capitol people know the music better than they know the heritage behind it. He's a great guy, knows radio, and knows the music extremely well. He's an engaging host and if they turn him down - they would be insane. They've stolen COOL's music list that Lesley Primeau busted her butt putting together - put I can forgive them for that if they give Chuck a position worthy of his talent.
So .. is there any update on Chuck's appearance at CAP-fm ???? Unfortunately, I haven't been listening to know whether he is back on air .. but had a chance to work with him a couple of years ago and he is one who still enjoyed being 'on air' .. as it were. Does anyone know if he's a constant part of CAP-fm or anywhere else for that matter ????
Has Capital finalized their new on-air crew? Haven't heard much about the status.

NewCap is doing this format as cheaply as possible -- DJs younger than the music they are playing, and there aren't many DJs. Capital - FM will probably do better in its first book than Big Earl ever did, but I'm sure the station will be sitting near the bottom (with it's sister station, K-Rock) once the next book is released on July 14. When will NewCap (Edmonton) have the courage to try something new?
Capital FM leaves Chuck Chandler "Homeless"....After his "auditon" we all thought it was a done deal.......now I hear CapFm has flip-floped..."Hicks on 6" Graham Hicks writes "Capital fm is looking for a NAME Morning show host, and it won,t be former Cool 880's Chuck Chandler.......What happened!

I would think the answer is simple. He didn't pass the audition. I heard part of it that weekend afternoon, he didn't sound like a guy who had been handed a golden opportunity.
Bottom line is...they need to fill some of those dayparts with announcers or thet need to voice track. It sounds like muzak. A format like that really needs announcers to complete the package. Listen to CBS FM New York to hear how it should be done.
Hicks on Six reports Chuck Chandler is leaving the cold winters of Edmonton for the sunnier, warmer climes of Spain, where his two sons have been living for the past six years.
