Clear Sky Radio, in association with The Lethbridge Hurricanes, is pleased to announce the signing of Mr. Richard “Dick” Gibson as the new Colour Commentator of the Lethbridge Hurricanes broadcasts on CJOC-FM “94.1 The Lounge”.

Mr. Gibson has an extensive sports background including 10 years as a radio and television Sports Director, a stint in Public Relations and Marketing for the Lethbridge Broncos in 1978-1979 and a season as General Manager of the Lethbridge Dodgers of the Pioneer Baseball League in 1983.  For eighteen seasons, Dick was the Public Address Announcer for the Lethbridge Broncos and then The Hurricanes.

“Dick’s broadcast experience and tremendous knowledge of the game, the league and The Hurricanes will be a huge asset to our hockey broadcast” comments CJOC-FM Program Director Rick Volpatti.  “His contacts within The Hurricanes organization and the Western Hockey League will bring a unique and exclusive perspective to each game as well as our new Monday night “Hurricanes Hockey Talk Show” and “Daily Hurricanes Reports” when they debut this September on 94.1 FM The Lounge”.

Dick will join Pat Siedlecki in the broadcast booth.  Mr. Siedlecki was announced as the new Play-by-Play voice of The Hurricanes last week.

“I'm excited to be part of the new partnership between The Lounge and The Hurricanes” says Dick Gibson.  “Of course, I am looking forward to working alongside Pat, and towards a great season of Hurricanes hockey".

“We are very pleased to be able to secure a colour commentator with Dick’s knowledge and background”, adds Director of Business Operations Doug Campbell. “Dick brings an element of experience within the Western Hockey League and is a well respected member of the Lethbridge sports scene.”

The Lethbridge Hurricanes radio broadcasts move to CJOC-FM “94.1 The Lounge” this season.  The Lounge is Lethbridge’s newest radio station, locally owned and operated by Clear Sky Radio Inc.  Clear Sky Radio signed a three-year broadcast agreement to carry the Hurricanes games earlier this year.
