Good for him ....I guess.  He, along with former reporter Susan Danard can spin & weave together.  More money, and more of a future in PR in the private world (er public gov job), but it would be hard to go back to objectively reporting news after these gigs.  But hey ....

So media types are really taking hold in Private Sector spin doctoring.   There Dag at BC Hydro, Drew Snyder at Translink, Viv Zinocco (sp) with Vancouver Health;  Doug Strachan Surrey School Board...and wasn't George Garrett with someone too?

I know I'm missing a few...

When I was going through broadcast school, we were told that large corporations/organizations hire media people to be their media liason.  Seems these people are comfortable speaking publicly.  Go figure.

Life after on-air radio or TV.....

I spent 15 years ON-AIR including positions at CKWX when it was the #1 Country station, CKLG (early 80's), CFUN when it was still playing music,
and CFMI (prior to Rock 101) with the likes of Bob Boving, Brian Arnold.

May 1, 1988 joined a 24 hour communications centre in Burnaby with the BC Ministry of Transportation.   I dealt with more media there than when I worked ON-AIR.     May 10, 2008, I left the Ministry, returned to the private sector and am now dealing with Media when they call in for traffic updates concerning the Cassiar Tunnel and Ironworkers Memorial 2nd Narrows Crossing

My time in the media holds many fond memories, but at the same time, no regrets about making a change and thoroughly enjoying all the monetary and other benefits.....

You can take communications as I did at SFU become a jock. When you see a chance go work  in the private sector as a spokesman. This includes preparing all media replies, preparing comment, writing others statements, It comes in many forms. Great for Dag. Steady job, INCOME, HOLIDAYS and a regular shift.
