Phenom, I'll agree, I like Arran too... I went to BCIT with Arran and always cheer her on whan I see her on TV.

I'll disagree with about Tamara... I don't watch much CTV but I know people that have an unhealthy obsession with her.  She is the rock star of TV News.

Rock star??  According to whom??  If anyone's a rock star on TV News nowadays it would be Chris Gailus.

I have to agree on both counts.  Tamara is a celebrity in a made-up TV Week sort of way while Gailus does actually have a star quality about him.

I would never deny that Chris is a fine journalist.

but I am talking Rock Star with a capital "R."

I challenge you to do a simple poll.  Ask people, on the street.

1) Who is Chris Gailus?

2) Who is Tamara Taggart?

Answer:

1) "who?"

2) "I love her!"  or "I hate her!"  or "she is hot"!  or "isn't she the chick married to that dude from that band that had that hit in 1995?"

Arran is a gem.  Eager, sweet, smooth delivery, above average dancer, globetrotter, and a pretty fine catch for anyone interested.

But don't ever eat her low fat cookies.

well i took my poll to the streets and the overwhelming response:

1) "Where's Tony Parsons, that Chris Gailus guy appears to have taken over"

2) "There are people who actually watch CTV 9 at 6pm? "  OR "Tamara....isn't she the weather 'specialist' who poses as a meterologist???"

Back to you Flame...

Sorry, can't buy Arran on weather.  When will she make up her mind on hair colour?
Rena Heer was good.  All the best to her.
Tamarra ... who ..?
I turned off CTV-9 because of her and Good's sidekick.  I think Good could do it alone, he is their only professional there.  And he does a superb job on NW.
Gailus is a professional, Tamarra is not.
CTV has a long way to go to even get at the same level as Global.

Totally disagree about Global being on top of the news. As an avid channel jumper during the light airplane impact into a Richmond apartment building CTV was right on top of things and way ahead of Global. It took Global a solid 30 minutes behind CTV to even find the apartment building whereas CTV already showed the impact site, eye witness accounts on the street, etc. Noticed the same thing on other occasions where CTV was a lot more immediate and indepth. And.... lay off Tamara Taggert...

Isn't it hillarious how this thread jumps around. Started as Reena Heer gone, then we learned that Tamara Taggart
(spell her name right groupies!) is a Rock star and that a certain poster doesn't think Gailus is a Rock star.  Then, somehow Arran Henn's ever-changing hair colour got in there and then the debate over who's better Global or CTV at 6pm.  Time to start a new thread on the "dream team" for Canada AM's 2 hour Vancouver brekkie show insert.  I just hope it's not as hokey as what channel 9 USED to have back in the days of VTV.  Wait now, wasn't Tamara Taggart on that one too??  And Nicola Crosbie although they did have one guy on there who did spin off to greater things with MTV or VH1...I did like Linda Freeman as a VTV host.  Didn't she branch into sports or something??

Nicola Crosbie IS THE Chief Meteorologist at Global Edmonton. She enrolled in the Broadcast Meteorology Program @ Mississippi State University, graduated in 2006. Your VH1, VTV host was Aamer Haleem.

Amy Bell is back on the Noon News.  After taking time off to care for her first child Amy made her return this afternoon.  Rena was a fill in for Amy's Mat leave.

No, Rena was hired and then quit.  Amy is only around for the "next little while", as Radeen put it on the Noon News today.

Radiolurker, doesn't matter to the regular viewer of the news, Global is THE spot for the TV news.
Who cares who had what first?
It's the professionalism of Global, over CTV's group.  Bill Good should be doing it alone, and someone should take over the weather from this Tamarra gal.  She may have the looks, but not the .....

As for Bill Good "doing a great job at 'NW," please know that all he does is read the 8 a.m. news. It's built by Tom Mark.
