What a circus.  Like musical chairs.  First him, then him, then this guy.

Get one guy to do them all, not this nonsense.

Sorry, don't like either of them.   Much prefer Rick as a talk show host rather than play-by-play guy.
As for Joey...he's pretty solid, and probably deserves a chance...but the chain of super-quality has been broken.

Joey Kenward has come a long way from calling Nanaimo Clippers games into a tape recorder.

" Kenward says he'll have various duties when he's not doing play-by-play, including general reporting, intermission interviews and filling in for talk show hosts"

I wonder what an ice-level reporter/pbp guy for 15 games a year would make.

I hope Joey changes his lame "he shoots...he scorreees" routine - which he even uses when a goal is scored without a shot being taken.

Love Baller in the football and talk show role - will withold judgement until I hear him do hockey.

Kenward is rather unpolished but could grow into it.

But this should be moot. Drop Larscheid (gently, make it look like retirement) and have Shorty and Colour Guy call all 82 for radio with TV Simulcasts on S-PAC and PPV.

A hockey team needs a sole voice. Robson, Hughson, Shorthouse. Not fill-in guys part-timing it.

Dan Russell is going to be really jealous! I thought the job would be his! Wasn't he the next in line 20 years ago? All kidding aside, I think 3 guys doing one job will suck! Look at Sportsnet Blue Jay coverage with rotating colourmen...I don't think it works very well. The dynamics between announcers effects the quality of the broadcast. Rick Ball is good at Football, as nobody seems to talk about J.Paul being missed?!?!? Joey is a little "over the top" but he comes for a reasonable price....which makes Mr. Team happy!

Does this open the door for Russell & Bill Willms to do all GIANTS RADIO GAMES?

I don't care what anybody says Tom Larshied is the best at what he does.

Lets listen to Jim Robson & Tommy http:

Robson did it differently every time, and not 10 seconds after the goal was scored.

Jim was very much against gimmicks in play-by-play, and preferred to let the game be the star.
