Actually, you're comparing S3 results with S1 - not S2 as titled.

CJJR FM  6.1 (93.7 JR FM)
CBU-FM  5.9 (CBC)

Are those the 12+ numbers?  Does anhyone have the important 25-54 or even 18-54 demos... you know, the ones where the big spenders are?

OK, thanks for the BBM link.
As far as cume goes, 12+, I see the top 6 as: (plus or minus and leaving out CBC because advertisers don't care)

QMFM - 377,000
CKNW - 362,000
JACK - 351,000
Z95.3 - 324,000
News1130 - 302,000
Rock 101 - 294,000

This is interesting, but I'd sure like to see the 25-54 cume.  I'm guessing when you take out all the seniors, the two AM station positions would be interesting!
Anyone?

Ctrl Cume - All Week Mo-Su 5a-1a
Adults 25-54
Top 6 are:

JACK     283,842
QMFM   242,847
CFMI     203,035
Z95       196,126
CKWX    179,141
BEAT     172,247

You are right.  Without the 55+ numbers, CKNW drops to 8th position with 156,563 though CKWX remains at #5.

Take out the Seniors?  You must be kidding.  Seniors are rated from either 50 or 55, and that age group has a helluva lot more money that the 18 - 39 year olds.
The 50+ is the new buying power.  How many teenagers can buy motorhomes, big cars, big boats and travel all over.
NW makes money, and most of that reason is because of that age demo.
Get a life, realize that the teens are not the real buying power today.

Oooh...good comeback...that stings!

The numbers merely point out that in the 25-54 demo, News1130 has more listeners than 'NW.  Calm down.  No-one said teens were the real buying power.
I fall into the 25-54 demo and have bought a heckuva lot more 'stuff' than my parents have in the last few years.  I also unabashadly listen to  News1130 when I'm driving to different job sites.  (Still giving F&C a chance in the morning, and hoping the music gets less repetitive)
I still wish there was a better way to get more accurate results from ratings though... but that's another thread.

I am surprised that NW remains so strong considering what has gone on in the past year. I rarely listen to them.
I am also surprsied that the Team1040 remained so weak in losing a point. Maybe with the hockey season starting the ratings will improve

I too am surprised that NW continues to do as well as it has enlight of all of the layoffs and changes.  Like underdog I rarely listen to 'NW now, The Bill Good Show every now and then but that is about it.  Like someone once said many of 'NW's listeners have their dial welded to 'NW and don't realize their are other stations in the market.  Sooner or later those listeners will either
a) die or b) find something else like we have.  You can't simply decimate a station like they have and have it not effect you down the line.

"You can't simply decimate a station like they have and have it not effect you down the line."

First, it's "affect." Second, yes you can. People have been saying that exact same thing since Corus took over, but NW hasn't faltered. Sure, their 25-54 numbers aren't strong - and they'll lose more 18 - 34s with no hockey, but the Top Dog just keeps on barking - regardless of how many people they've let go over the years. Recent additions are strong - Bennett sounds great.
