Amber Dowling wrote this week for TVGuide.ca: Reports surfacing that the 'Idol' host is leaving to replace CNN's King Is there anything this man wont do? MSNBC reported yesterday that Ryan Seacrest is in talks to take over Larry Kings CNN role by the end of 2008. Although the report claimed Seacrest would be able to take on Kings duties in addition to his Idol gig, time-wise this would seem pretty unreasonable. Unless of course someone figured out how to replicate J.K. Rowlings fictitious Time-Turner or something. Actually, thatd be pretty cool. But I digress. Theres been speculation of this sort for some time now, and King has gone on record with a nod of approval. His only reservation was about how much world politics and affairs knowledge Seacrest holds. Its very hard to read the paper when you have multiple-hosting duties you know. From King to Seacrest It seems sort of odd to me, replacing a world affairs reporter with a pop icon, but Id be hard-pressed to name someone who could do better. And King did interview Paris Hilton after she got out of jail, among other celebs of course. Maybe it would be a good fit? Who do you think could be a good replacement? http://tvguide.sympatico.msn.ca/TVNews/Articles/080508_seacrest_replacing_king_AD |
