So, I'm listening to the Q's "Buck a Bark" bit, and I started thinking about some of the best bits, or breaks I've ever heard. It's almost impossible to nail it down to one, but there's one I'll always remember, and it seems like it was only yesterday. It wasn't elaborate, or long, but it was brilliant. Mike McCoy, on LG, just played "Every Breath You Take" for the first time. On the fade, he was talking about how great the song was, how he'd love to hear it again. As Mike started giving reasons why he couldn't play it twice, the intro started to roll, and he's still yakking about having a mortgage to pay, and how they'd fire his ass, and he really needed the cash, and BAM - hits the post.
The only time I've ever heard (intentionally) a song played twice in a row, and 15 seconds of some of the best radio I've ever heard.

Anybody else?

I was 11 when American Graffitti came out...I remember listening to the soundtrack and when Wolfman Jack came talking about "green onoins all over the studio"  I can remember thinking "WOW"

Okay...it's not really a true radio bit or break...but he had a large impact on a lot of DJ's everywhere...that is just one case.

Thanks Bruce for starting this thread.

Speaking of songs back to back.. I remember a station in Detroit playing the Spice Girls "Wannabe" back to back.. the personality laughing because his boss had come in demanding him to "Play It Again!" because the track was so much fun.. it was fun to listen to.. I can even remeber where I was and what the weather was like when it happened..

Gerry Forbes a while back when he was briefly at QR and they still played music on drive time, would play Neil Young's 'Harvest Moon' but most of the time they would never play it to the end, they would do a scratching record effect and go to commercial.  I always thought that was a good bit of humor.
