I don't think you'll ever see big numbers for 730 not because nobody is listening, but because people tune in and out for just a couple minutes at a time. Numbers will never really be looked at seriously for 730. By the way... The numbers you see for 730 reflect MOJO not the traffic format.
NW can be slammed as much as anybody likes, but it's still number one for now. Great book for the FM music stations though. Nice work by Z and 101, and QM.
Yes, yes I realize that with the fab traffic radio station and although still number one for 'NW this is a significant drop. The decay has only just begun, perhaps, something the suits can discuss amongst themselves over their next free lunch.
By the way, nice to see that jump as well for The Beat, pretty good for a little indie.
It wouldnt shock many of us in the commercial side for a number of reasons:
cbc has more money to produce quality commercial radio is in a phase called 'corporate greed' downsizing talent and making 1 employee a star in five markets (ie Susan Sierra) all to maximize profits for shareholders
This book reflects truly the loss of Frosty and the inability of Philip Till to be anything other than boring. He might have been a great foreign correspondent but his NBC buddys would squirm listening to his swearing and banality.
My last rant about 'NW and then I will let it go, for now. The only prediction I have is that all of the suits will retain their respective jobs, no matter what.
I do agree that the CBC can be number one. It is the station that I have turned to for information in the morning and by the looks of it not the only one. There, I am done. All the best.

CN please explain to me, (minus the usual Corus spin if that's remotely possible), how that would motivate anyone to want to advertise?
Also, isn't it interesting how when CBC isn't in a labour dispute, they take a bite out of those NW numbers. Spring book's never the big one, but if a similar trend happens this fall, the decline of the Roman Empire has begun, soon the barbarians will be at the gate. At some point you have to have a better idea than just "more Philip and Bill". Not to say it will happen though. The Team has nearly caught CISL if anybody cares, and should pass them during hockey season, you would think.
Hey Lee... that observation about Team 1040 almost catching CISL is beneath you! Both stations gained an identical pittance in this book...one-fifth of 1 per cent. Truth is, this rating was too soon to note any real pickup from MOJO dropping out.
But please don't do any high fiving over ALMOST catching CISL! That's pathetic.
