Neither is 12+ Market Share but the posters on this board devote alot of time to the discussion of Market Share, so to simplify it cume is probably the easiest way to do that.
Once again it seems everyone is hung up on some statistics compiled by BBM in a somewhat unscientific method.
At the end of the day all that matters is how much revenue a station can generate. National agencies tend to buy on an average of books cuz thats the best measure to figure out how to spend their clients $. Local clients aren't so focused on ratings.
The sales department is what really makes a station sucessful. Lousy ratings with a strong sales department will prob generate more sales than a great ratings with weak sales department.
If we had the sales numbers next to the rating we could see $sold per share point. That would be interesting...

12+ Cume is no more relevant than 12+ market share. The best publicly available measure of success is adult share.

And now you could argue, it's the revenue STATIONS in a cluster can garner. Based on first glances, there will be some sales folks at JACK & CKNW who will be VERY unhappy today, if they have to give back some dough to their clients because their shares fell off beyond what they promise their clients.
Price per point would be a VERY interesting thing to know in this market.
So I see a good pop for 1040, and a drop for NW. How much of this relates to the Canucks rights? Does this mean Dan Russell's tantrum last year was justified? Of course, whilst complaining about how NW lost the rights, he also said they were worthless ....
ok so judging by certain stations losing ground such as Z are we going to see some format changes anywhere and if so where and what do you think will be the changes?
Didn't the early edition knock NW out of number one spot? That is my understanding. Who cares if they aren't commercial... it's even funnier cause it proves, again, provate enterprise can't always do it better.

It might be funny but I dont want my tax dollars supporting a station so that it can compete in the marketplace. If the CBC is so good they shouldnt have a problem with starting to sell commercials and take care of themselves financially.
One thing that stands out at the bottom of the trash can is the abysmal performance of CFUN. They are not doing much better than Mojo Traffic. When are they going to have a full tilt format change because the one they have is definitely not working. They would probably do better to go all syndicated if they cant afford to improve their live on air offering.

Yet another person who doesn't understand the concept of public media and its benefits.
Now if they could only replace Rick Cluff with Steven Quinn in the mornings, who is filling in this week, you would probably see the CBC numbers go into the stratosphere. Steven is very pleasant to listen to and while Rick does a good job he tends to come off as a real "know-it-all", especially when it comes to sports. Just my two cents on a Wednesday
