Puget Sound Radio Salutes Broadcast Dialogue for 10 Great Years
10 YEARS FOR BROADCAST DIALOGUE MAGAZINE

“Sometimes, the time is right, the planets move into conjunction; the pieces all fall into place; and the right events combine with hard work in a conspiracy of serendipity.”
So began feature writer Daphne Lavers’ story on the occasion of Broadcast Dialogue magazine’s first anniversary. It’s nine years later and Ms. Lavers’ opening sentence in 1999's first anniversary feature still holds true.
Oh, sure, the magazine has seen many changes – not the least of which are the sheer numbers of outstanding broadcast industry writers and those wonderful advertisers who ensure that you, the reader, continue to get “The Voice of Broadcasting in Canada” delivered.
That first year, however, saw many recipients shaking their heads and wondering what the heck this magazine was all about. They’d never seen a broadcast trade publication that so graphically demonstrated that it wasn’t dedicated to any one aspect of the trade. It was hard for some suppliers to appreciate that broadcast engineers actually cared for or read about anything besides engineering. Ditto every other discipline under the broadcasting umbrella.
But they DO care.
In spades!
Fifty-four pages of reader comments underscore that truism. Here are just a few examples:
