This past weekend Victoria radio station, The Zone @ 91-3, managed to raise $12,424.27 by having their morning show team broadcast live from a mall parking lot for 28 hours straight. Dylan Willows of The Zone Morning Show (and media rider for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Tour de Rock campaign in Victoria) hosted a fundraiser called the 28-Hour DJ along with his co-host, Tessa Sam.

Under the direction of Sara Parker (Program Director) and Bryan Capistrano (Promotion Director), the station hosted a number of activities in the 28 hours they were broadcasting - including two BBQs, live DJs, speed dating and having a hot tub party. This event is one of many fundraisers The Zone @ 91-3 has hosted for the Canadian Cancer Society. Other fundraisers have included a Rock Band video game tournament and a menu item entitled The Dylan Burger at a local Moxies restaurant (where net proceeds of the menu item benefit Willows’ fundraising efforts).
