Dunno if this has been mentioned in any threads lately, but two days ago some job postings at CIVI were posted up on the CTVglobemedia website to staff a new morning show...
Yeah, apparently when they relaunch, they'll be bringing back the morning show across the A-Channel system as "A-Morning" or something. That's what I heard, anyway. The insiders should have more details.
Morning TV show back on airwaves A-Channel trolls for new cast, GM takes new post

A-Channel Victoria is bringing back its morning television show.
Cancelled in July 2006 when A-Channel's then parent company CHUM was being sold to Bell Globemedia, the station is bringing the show back after Labour Day.
According to Richard Gray, national head of news for A-Channel and vice-president and general manager of A-Channel Vancouver Island, the show will debut Sept. 9 and will run from 6 to 9 a.m. Monday to Friday.
"There was a demand in the community for this and we're moving forward with new ownership here and certainly we are looking at doing things a little bit differently," said Gray, noting the program will be a half an hour longer than its previous incarnation which started at 6:30 a.m.
The company has started casting around for staff for the new venture with notices it will hire three producers, a camera operator and host.
CTVglobemedia also recently announced Gray was appointed vice president of Ottawa Radio and A-Channel Ottawa.
Gray will be taking over from Chris Gordon, who was appointed president of CHUM Radio in April.
Gray, who has held the Victoria job since April 2004, begins his new position on Sept. 1 and will assume responsibility for A-Channel Ottawa, and CHUM radio stations Majic 100 FM, 93.9 BOB FM, CFRA 580 AM and The Team 1200 AM.
Gray previously worked in Ottawa as director of information programming at The New RO, now A-Channel.
He has held the position as national head of news for A-Channel since August 2007 and will remain in that capacity which will allow him to continue to have input in the Victoria market.
"I'm really looking forward to it, I will miss Victoria a lot and the group I work with at the station is absolutely fabulous, but this is an opportunity to participate in company operations on an altogether different level and was one I could not pass up," he said.
A replacement for Gray is not expected to be named for another four to six weeks.
Great oppourtunity to grab some seasoned layed-off CHEK people to bolster the A Channel ranks. Get a buyout and walk over to the competition, sweet!
Yeah, for the ten viewers who will tune in and for a broadcast that will likely last as long as CTV 9's local version of Canada AM. But hey, if it gets them another package, more power to 'em.

I like the sound of it already. It's about time A started rebuilding its local presence following the CHUM cuts of '06...I miss the shows that were on during the New VI days (like Island Underground, EnVIromental, VIParade and Talk TV).
I agree with grand pa on Bruce Williams, his previous morning show offering was interesting and informative and I would watch it over anything out of Vancouver. Hope they bring him back, although his reluctance to move from the Nanaimo area might be the deal breaker?
I know the A Channel morning show will start at 6 am but it's too bad it wont start at 5:30. I leave for work at 6 in Victoria and all I have to watch for news is that Global thing (Steve and Lynn's Entertainment Show), which isn't at all local.
