And you thought the hype over Brad and Angelina's babies was nuts……

Tell me I just didn't hear this ad on 'NW a minute ago…..

Announcer (breathless drama): "In this week's issue of TV Week Magazine, Global TV morning news anchor Steve Darling and his wife Jen introduce their new little "Darling" …..Hailey-Poppi !!

This special issue includes a special eight page feature, plus "exclusive," "never before seen," pictures and the proud new parents' candid account of the delivery room "drama."

You don't want to miss this special issue!

Now, I like Steve as much as the next person, but come on!

When TV Week Mag did that 80-page spread (seemed like) laying out the minutia of his wedding a few years ago I thought it was over the top.

The only thing this rag missed was a five page spread of the (now successful) Steve Darling wedding night consummation !!

(Rumour has it TV Week's main rival in the grocery store checkout line TV magazine business, TV Weak, almost outbid them for those "Never before seen" snaps but their Climate Action Dividend was late coming from Victoria)

Based on that, TV Week ought to change its name to TV Enquirer.

I think I liked TV Week better when it stuck to covering the goings-on with our favorite shows.

That's nothing. Wait 'til you get a glimpse of next week's TV Week cover, showing intrepid "news reporter" Pamela Martin wearing the extremely outre South American sombrero she picked up on her latest junket to the embattled rain forest, or somewhere. I can hardly wait to hear the dramatic promos for that one. No wonder TV Week sends out its subscription renewal notices about 6 months before they're due; they need to keep the cash flowing to pay for these wonderful photos and stories about our TV news personalities.

People still BUY this rag...much less subscribe to it???  I give it a 10 second glance in the express checkout, roll my eyes and put it back.  It ALMOST makes that Rachel Ray rag right next to it look good....ALMOST!

When TV Week starts morphing the names of power media couples in Vancouver a la Brangelina or TomKat, it will have gone full cycle.   (Dare i suggest an article on Global super-couple Chris Gailus and Jane Carrigan...they could be dubbed "Chrane" or "Gailigan")

I like 'CALLIGAN' ... you know with the Skipper (Tony), Mary Ann & Ginger, (Kristie & Robin), the professor (Squire), The Howells (Steve & Deb).

I picture Squire to be more of a Gilligan...or is that Gailus' starring role???   And a SLIGHT correction on the Howells...that should be Steve and Lynn!
