Puget Sound Radio / Street Talk/Shop Talk/let's Talk / CHEK News Goes 25 minutes to First Commercial

As a regular viewer of CHEK's 10 pm newscast, I believe this is unprecedented. Wednesday night Tony Parsons kept introducing BC news item after item (many of CBC origin) until finally getting to the Ed Bain first weather tease after 10.22 pm.
Would this be due to the heavy input of high profile news packages .. or a shortage of commercials?
A Seattle TV station used to boast about 11 straight minutes of news at 11 pm, but double that size seems extraordinary. Normally CHEK will go to 10.15 without a break.

Or maybe their master control blew up? That seems to happen all too frequently there since they got their own master control back.

Maybe they realized (finally) that people start tuning out after the first commercial break, so they are trying to keep audiences longer!
