Lost a great friend over the weekend.  Former Max Trax music programmer Pete Silversides passed away from a heart attack.  Prior to the Corus years in Calgary, Pete worked in Saskatoon radio for quite a number of years.  I think anyone who ever knew Pete or crossed paths would say that he was really one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet.  Listening to some Kinks this morning in your honour Pete!

As I was an aspiring Music Director at CFQC, Peter taught me the way to deal with sales people coming in and "requesting" what songs we should and shouldn't be playing.  He would calmly hear them out then earnestly state, "You know, you may have a point there."  He would then proceed on his previous course.  He taught me a lot in my short time working with him and he left a lasting impression. If patience was a virtue, Peter was a Saint.
