Why is the main-stream media so opposed to Christians?
Ezra Levant exposes the bias and asks the hard questions.

This is just another left-wing media attempt to disguise it's agenda by casting rotten bait in hopes of bringing up some bottom-feeder-fueled anti-Christian rhetoric.
Christians, that is those who call on the name of Christ and have a personal relationship with the Lord, are more likely to embrace the environmental debate since God called on all people to be guardians of the earth and to be good stewards of what He has provided.
As one of those so-called fanatics, I believe we (Christians) have allowed ourselves to be trampled by other faiths, left-leaning humanists and so-called atheists for so long, we no longer know how to stand for what we believe and in fact have lost the backbone to do so.
When we do stand up for what we believe we are called lunatics, fanatics trying to force our beliefs on others.
Well folks, better take a long hard look around and see just which of the worlds religions has made the biggest inroads, especially in Europe and over the last couple of decades, the U.S. and yes, to some degree here in Canada as well...and it ain't Christianity!

If Christians got together and wanted to build a church inside one our technical institutes, what kind of coverage and slant do you think the media would put on that story? Or would it go in unnoticed ??
Well guess what ? How many people know that N.A.I.T has a full blown mosque inside on campus. Don't you think that would have made a good story ?? Nope , I've never heard anything about it till I was informed by a maintance worker.
Interesting isn't it?
I'm sure there are lots of stories just like this one!

I will look at the question in reverse.
My guess would be that the governing body of the school doesn't want a firestorm of controversy over kowtowing to a particular group.
Having said that, since they opened the door for Islam, they would be hard pressed to refuse if a Christian group did want to open a chapel.
Now, if it had been the other way around, Christians first, there would have been an outcry and even likely a political backlash that would have led to the plan being barred. Would it have received media attention...you bet your as*, because those opposed would have made sure to contact the media.

Since many people here work in the main stream media, perhaps you would share with us why, exactly, Christians are constantly belittled and ignored.

Why is it okay for Muslims and Jews to have special concessions, programs and other considerations?

But if a Christian organization wants to have its own program, it has to provide "balance".

In fact, a Christian pastor was recently banned from quoting from the bible.  I have heard no such restrictions on the Koran or Talmud.

And then there's Christmas and Easter.   We can no longer wish each other Merry Christmas, or Happy Easter - we have to have "Holiday Trees" and "Spring Festivals".

I see no such efforts to demean Ramadan or Hanukkah, but it appears to be open season on Christian traditions and festivals.

Indeed, Christmas has turned into a purely commercial event that retailers depend on to save their bottom line.

If Christians were smart, they would pull the plug on these so-called "mainstream" media sources and boycott not only them but also retailers that feel that they can discriminate on the largest religious group in North America. :o

You are right on the mark!
The only thing I can say about why is as a nation we have allowed political correctness to overtake common sense.
We have opened the door so wide to immigration and encouraged "equal" participation of the newcomers cultures and traditions that we have lost ourselves in the process.
I think to it has to do with the squeaky wheel getting the grease. The louder the minority screams, the more community leaders give in so as not to offend the newcomers.
We have allowed this type of kowtowing to go on so long, we no longer know how to regain control of our own culture.
It's the old "when they came for me" thing. By the time the west wakes up to the reality of what's going on, it may well be too late!

Actually with a lot of these absurd rules I wouldn't blame most minorities very much.

It is mostly the holier than thou politically correct  fanatics who want everyone to love them and dream up a lot of the garbage policies we see nowadays with respect to minorities.

The media are not biased against Christianity, per se. But they do lean towards being somewhat anti-religion, in general. I think it's because the news media's mandate is to seek the truth in society. If that is your repeated course of action on a daily basis, after a while you begin to question the veracity of some of the things people take for granted. And let's face it, when you subject most religious beliefs to any sort of careful scrutiny, they look pretty farfetched and implausible. So there may be a higher proportion of atheists, or agnostics, or humanists among members of the media, and perhaps that's the bias they show.

Interesting statement, I'd be interested in seeing that poll.

-Who believes there is a spiritual factor with a supreme being?
- who believes there is no God or spiritual unseen ( to most ) realm ?
- who believes there is no God but we need to worship the earth ?!

Just a thought ... As science progresses in quantum physics etc,
More evidence points to one of the above choices and
Has some serious evidence to back it up.

Enjoy

Anti Christian? Typical baloney coming from right wing SunTV. Main stream media are mostly non-religious as they should be. Why should they cater to a specific group when there are scores of atheists, non-Christians etc. among their audiences.
I don't see any complaints about there being a faith based TV channel in the form of Vision TV even though we have no choice in paying for that through our cable fees.
Sun TV omits that tiny little detail.

Faith based?  VISION TV?  Under old management, maybe.

But just recently, they cancelled the very highly acclaimed British import "Edmmerdale" and replaced it with this "comedy" by the name of Amanda.  Amanda thought it was funny to walk around sucking on a giant chocolate penis.

Faith based?  My ass. :o
