What a nice book for CKWX. And the format change at CISL when AM600 left, seems to have paid off. The NW collapse may be underway, it's been a long time coming. Congrats to the CBC, their numbers this time proves that good radio will eventually rise to the top.
Can't wait to see if anybody posts the coveted 25-54 shares.

CBC Radio One has taken the top audience share in the Vancouver radio market, toppling traditional local broadcasting leader CKNW. The CBC is yet to confirm whether this is the first time CBC Radio One has achieved the top spot.
According to figures released by radio ratings survey group, BBM, CBC Radio One took an 11 per cent share in the first quarter of 2009, with the morning show — The Early Edition with Rick Cluff —generating a massive 16.9 per cent share in its time period.
The increase in audience at the CBC has been at the expense of CKNW, with a current market share of 10.1 per cent. In 2005, CKNW led with a market share of 14.8 per cent to CBC Radio One's paltry 5 per cent, behind eight other stations.
The CBC Radio One share has climbed steadily ever since. In May 2005, CKNW's long-serving, perennially popular morning show host Brian "Frosty" Forst retired to be replaced by Morning News with Philip Till.
Interesting how irrelevant the demographic breakdowns make the traditional 12+ numbers. Case in point, WX has a 5.9 among 25-54 males, compared to NW's 4.1 and among females 25-54, WX pulls a 6.3 to NW's paltry 2.8. BC's so-called "news leader" isn't doing much leading these days.

Does anyone have the daypart breakdowns? Those numbers could be REALLY interesting...
Absolutely BRUTAL first book for the Peak...can't imagine the mood was very good today at Pattison. From the people I talked to at the station prior to the book they were predicting between a 2.5-3 share, and thought that was a very conservative estimate. Coming in behind 1410, and just ahead of 730 is pretty sad.
In terms of The PEAK, the station has been on air just over a month when this ratings period started. The next book will give a better gauge on the station. Lots of Billboard, transit up this year ,plus saw some TV spots on Global..That will help them as they gain traction. They also had real good visibility at the Junos with the Peak Performance stage It will take a book or 2 for them to carve out their home in the market.

You weren't talking to anyone from Pattison then. Either you got your company's mixed up or you're full of $hit.
They were shocked to even have a 1 share after such a short time...and in Females they're less than a share behind the FOX...a station that's been around for how long?
Maybe you've confused the first book goal with their year long goal.
