      • CASEY KASEM’s widow JEAN received some good news from LOS ANGELES prosecutors late last week, when she was told she won’t face elder abuse charges.  THE ASSOCIATED PRESS reports, “a charge evaluation sheet released by the LOS ANGELES COUNTY District Attorney’s Office said CASEY KASEM had received consistent medical care in his final days and that it wouldn’t be appropriate to charge JEAN KASEM.”

KASEM’s children had sought those charges be brought against JEAN KASEM.

“Because of Mr. KASEM’s longstanding profound health issues, this case cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury,” the decision read.

It was the first piece of positive news for JEAN KASEM in court, as many recent decisions went against her. In FEBRUARY (NET NEWS 2/9), ALL ACCESS reported JEAN KASEM was told by LOS ANGELES Superior Court JUDGE LESLEY GREEN, she has “has no legal right to object to the payment of attorney’s fees and costs related to the establishment of a conservatorship over her late husband, clearing the way for the money to be obtained either from the late radio icon’s estate or the family trust.” The actual amount of the award had not been set at the time, but “the petitioners collectively are asking for about $350,000. The attorneys involved in the filing the petition said they also will seek additional fees to compensate them for having to oppose JEAN KASEM’s objections to the fees requests.”

CASEY KASEM died in JUNE 2014.
